A South African youth-led, women-led organization has unveiled that the former Miss South Africa runner-up Zimi Mabunzi will join the organization as their brand ambassador. This comes after months of working with Zimi in numerous campaigns that bring awareness to the plight of injustices to adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. The founder Sibulele Sibaca welcomed Zimi, stating that it was only fitting that Zimi, who is also an activist for the rights of women, join the organization.
Zimi Mabunzi joined the organization during a crucial time, when the organization, currently in partnership with The Global Fund, is raising awareness about the 7th Replenishment period taking place in the world that aims to raise at least $18 billion. The funds will help us get back on track in the fight against HIV, TB, and Malaria globally, especially in Africa, which will assist in building resilient and sustainable systems for health and strengthen global health security and pandemic preparedness.
For the past couple of months, Impact Drivers has been involved in numerous community and national campaigns to create awareness and talkability around the 7th Replenishment period in hopes of gathering support from global leaders and presidents to once again contribute to the fund.
This has been done through educational conferences and vigorous media campaigns in and around South Africa. As an ambassador, Zimi will join in the conversation and use her platform to embark on a journey with Impact Drivers through the campaigns to reach the organization’s goals and objectives.
