First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the Board of the newly established Future Assured College. The newly established college strives to improve the lives of the youths from less privileged backgrounds, especially those affected by the insurgency. Future Assured College, alongside the first lady, has aspired to change many lives, and this is just the beginning.
On the 25th of January, Mrs. Buhari delivered a speech communicating the importance of this college and what the potential of this workmanship can produce. “Our children are our future. Education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country,” she once stated. At the inauguration, Mrs Buhari noted that each of the board members was carefully selected due to their contributions to society and their acceptance has indicated not just their commitment to developing the college into an enviable position but demonstrated their readiness to continue serving humanity.
Among the selected were Chairman of the Board of the College, former Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, and Ms. Halima Buhari-Sheriff as the secretary. The chairman spoke extensively of the college’s humanitarian spirit. He commended the First Lady for the laudable projects and programs she initiated through the Future Assured Initiative and said she walks her talk. On their website, Future Assured College state that their vision is to engage the office of the wife of the president is to contribute to the acceleration of efforts to End Preventable Maternal, Newborn, and Child deaths through advocacy and the strengthening of accountability mechanisms to enhance the peace and development of Nigeria.
The first lady posted this event on social media and has shown eagerness to pursue this program and bring hope to all Nigerian nationals. Together, they will continue to urge collaborations and media representation to benefit the country’s youth.
