Billie Eilish has spoken candidly about her experience as a female celebrity, including the criticism she faced for her appearance.

The 20-year-old singer asserted that “no matter what you do, it’s wrong and right” in an interview prior to her headlining performance at Glastonbury 2022.

Eilish gained notoriety for donning enormous street fashion when she initially started out. She said that she did this in a 2019 Calvin Klein commercial because “nobody can have an opinion since they haven’t seen what’s below.”

The Happier Than Ever actress then startled fans by showing up on the cover of British Vogue in June 2021 while dressed in corsets and lingerie for a pin-up style photoshoot.

Eilish earlier said she “lost 100,000 followers… because of the boobs,” despite the cover shot becoming the Instagram post to receive a million likes the quickest (in only six minutes).

People blame you for not being feminine enough, Eilish said, adding that no one is drawn to her. She also feels extremely unlovable, unsexy, and unattractive.

Then, when you wear something more exposed, people comment on how overweight you are. I’m a sl**, a sell-out, and I sell my body for money just like every other famous person. Wow! What the f*** are you looking for?

“It’s a crazy world for women and women in the public spotlight,” she continued.

Eilish criticised the Daily Mail when it ran an article with the headline: “Proof that money can make you change your morals and “sell-out”: Billie Eilish surprises fans by switching out baggy clothing for lingerie; in Vogue – after years of promising to “conceal her body.”

The title was changed to read: “Proof that women may alter their minds and reclaim authority over their own bodies.” She tweeted an amended version of the headline made by Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter Emily. Despite having been a child for years, Billie Eilish surprises her admirers by switching from baggy clothing to lingering in Vogue.
