A South African youth-led, women-led organization has unveiled that the former Miss South Africa runner-up Zimi Mabunzi will join the organization as their brand ambassador. This comes after months of working with Zimi in numerous campaigns that bring awareness to the plight of injustices to adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. The founder Sibulele Sibaca welcomed Zimi, stating that it was only fitting that Zimi, who is also an activist for the rights of women, join the organization.

Obstetrician-gynecologist Nafis Sadik, who was widely recognized as one of the world’s most successful advocates for women’s reproductive rights, passed away at 92. Sadik was the first woman to lead the UN Population Fund when she was appointed to the position in 1987.
