For the great contributions and efforts made towards the promotion of girl child education, the founding member of the Forum of African Women Educationalists (FAWE), the late Mrs Vida Amadi Yeboah, has been posthumously honoured.

Twenty (20) female engineers benefited from the Margaret Aina Oguntala Capacity Development Academy​ (MAOCADA) instituted by the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN). The MAOCADA initiative is aimed at upscaling the capacity of young female engineers and enhancing their professional skills to achieve improved technical proficiency and professional confidence. The capacity development academy is in honour of the first female Deputy President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Mrs Margaret Aina Oguntala. The beneficiaries were selected from 150 applicants and will undergo six months of training at​ Kenol Engineering Company Limited and Momas Electricity Meter Manufacturing Company Limited. Speaking at the maiden edition/flag-off of the initiative in Lagos, the President of APWEN, Dr Elizabeth Eterigho, noted that the academy is positioned as Nigeria’s premier advance technical, vocational,​ entrepreneurial, and life skills learning programme to create a generation of​ self-sustained and employable female youths, particularly young engineers.

Marrakech and Rabat have been confirmed as the two venues hosting the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League from October 30 to November 13, 2022.
